Rommel Roberto Rojas Zamora

Rommel is a researcher in the ABC Expeditions project, in the field of herpetofauna.

Rommel Roberto Rojas Zamora has a degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de la Amazonía Peruana (UNAP, 2010), Peru, a Master’s in Biological Diversity from the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), and a PhD in Genetics, Conservation and Evolutionary Biology from the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA). He did post-doctoral studies in Amazonian Biodiversity at UFAM, and is currently Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Biological Sciences at UNAP, Iquitos, Peru. He uses and integrates various evolutionary tools (e.g. morphological, genetic, ecological and bioacoustic characters) to identify patterns of diversity, reveal new species and infer biogeographic processes of diversification in the Neotropics.
